When you connect your Garmin account, with your explicit consent, we access the following data from Garmin Connect:

  • Activity Data: Swimming, cycling, and running activities including duration, distance, pace, heart rate, power output, cadence, and elevation
  • Health Metrics: Resting heart rate, VO2 max estimates, training status, and training load
  • Daily Summaries: Steps, active minutes, and sleep data (if you choose to share)
  • Device Information: Garmin device model for data attribution

Important: We do not collect location or GPS data by default. Location data is only collected if you explicitly opt-in to location-based features.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use our service, including:

  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Time and date of visits

3. Garmin Data Integration

We use your Garmin data to:

All data sourced from your Garmin device is attributed as "Data from Garmin" within our application, in compliance with Garmin's brand guidelines.

AI Processing: We use AI services (Claude by Anthropic) to provide coaching features. Your training data may be processed by these services to generate personalized advice. This data is not used to train AI models and is processed in accordance with our data processing agreements.

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent for data processing at any time
  • Revoke Garmin Access: Disconnect your Garmin account at any time through your account settings or directly through Garmin Connect

8. Data Retention

  • Garmin Tokens: Deleted immediately upon disconnecting your Garmin account

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

TriCoach is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers of your personal data.
